Chojnik Castle was built at the top of a mountain (627 meters above sea level), on the edge of a 150-meter cliff, known as the Hell's Valley. It is associated with the legend of Princess Kunegunda, the daughter of a wealthy castellan, for whose hand many sought, but only he who dared to ride a horse around the castle walls could win her. The Devil's Valley swallowed many knights, trying to accomplish the seemingly impossible task. Many years passed until there was a daredevil who met Kunegunda's condition. He rode around the castle, but humiliated the princess, remembering all those who died because of her cruel wish. The girl, covered in shame, threw herself into the abyss, taking her own life.
