From an old linen bleaching plant - a meeting place for intellectuals - to a family residence - to a luxury hotel. It is here, in a unique way, that the history of Pakosz Palace has merged with modernity and allowed you to feel special in its interiors.

Our luxury hotel in the mountains is located in a historic baroque palace, which has been combined with modern architecture. It is an unusual combination of classic interiors, modern design and contemporary art. A sophisticated juxtaposition of historical elements with contemporary design and art, it is a bold confrontation of styles you won't find in other palaces in Lower Silesia. Here art is present at every step and even defines the unique character of our exclusive hotel.

BAROQUE ROOM

The Baroque Room, is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the entire Palace hotel. The room, as well as the entire Palace, was restored with the help of architect Christopher Jan Schmidt, who adapted the structure to function as a hotel in the palace. The restoration of the Baroque Hall with its illusionist and allegorist paintings was handled by Dresden painter Christoph Wetzel, who also restored the Baroque dome of Dresden's Frauenkirche. The original painting in the Baroque Hall, which has not survived to the present day, was painted by Baroque painter Johann Franz Hoffmann.

Christoph Wetzel

Christoph Wetzel was born in 1947 in Berlin. He earned a degree in panel and wall painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden in 1967. After completing his education, he apprenticed for a year in the restoration of paintings by the old masters before becoming a lecturer at his alma mater. Since 1997, he has been active as an independent artist, and the paintings created in his studio in the small town of Ringenhain have gone on to art exhibitions around the world. Christoph Wetzel is an internationally recognized painter, restorer and conservator of historic wall paintings, especially from the Baroque period.

"Ever since I can remember, art has been an important part of my life, and my favorite activity has always been abstract painting. Creating is something that relaxes me, and no matter how big a problem I face in life, when I paint, I forget about the whole world. At that moment it's just me and the canvas. The very thought that people will take a few minutes out of their lives to enjoy and try to understand the message behind my vivid paintings brings me a lot of joy. It makes me want to put even more heart into my future works. I hope that I will always be able to create images depicting the beauty I see around me every day."
