Pakoszów Palace in Lower Silesia

Pakoszów Palace is one of the most beautiful and picturesque historic sites in the Lower Silesia region. Built in the 18th century, the palace is an excellent example of Baroque architecture, where history meets elegance. Surrounded by extensive parkland, Pakoszów Palace not only delights with its appearance but also with its hospitality – it is both a luxury hotel and a center for cultural events.

The heart of the palace is the Baroque Hall, whose magnificent interiors with rich decorations and exceptional acoustics lend a special dimension to every musical event held here. This hall has witnessed many unforgettable concerts, and its atmosphere attracts both artists and music lovers from various corners of the world.

Wrocław Baroque Ensemble

The ensemble specializes in historical performance, focusing on discovering little-known repertoire from Central Europe. They primarily perform music from the Polish Renaissance and Baroque period, from chamber compositions to oratorio and cantata works. The Wrocław Baroque Ensemble was founded in 2012 by Andrzej Kosendiak and has been functioning under his artistic direction since its inception, currently being one of the ensembles associated with the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. Its core consists of outstanding instrumentalists and vocalists from European countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Great Britain, and Germany).

The ensemble boasts a rich catalog of recordings, including a series of albums dedicated to the works of Polish Baroque composers – Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki, Bartłomiej Pękiel, Marcin Mielczewski, Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński, Mikołaj Zieleński, Jacek Różycki, Marcin Leopolita, and Kaspar Förster (CD Accord). The albums are available on Spotify and distributed worldwide by Naxos; they receive positive reviews on sites such as MusicWeb International, ClassicsToday.com, and Fanfare Archive. The first album, featuring music by Gorczycki, received the Wrocław Music Award in 2013; subsequent ones were nominated for the Fryderyk Award (in the years 2013, 2015, 2017–2021, 2023), the album Mielczewski II won this award in 2019, and in 2021 – Mikołaj Zieleński (both in the category of “Album of the Year – Early Music”). In 2015, a recording of the Salzburg Marian Mass with liturgical music by Mozart was released, recorded with the NFM Boys' Choir under the direction of Andrzej Kosendiak. In 2022, the ensemble released its first vinyl record with the Completorium by Gorczycki and the album Marcin Józef Żebrowski – Vesperae in Visitatione Beatae Mariae Virginis (awarded the Fryderyk 2023 and nominated for Opus Klassik 2023). In September 2024, the latest album by the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble under the direction of Andrzej Kosendiak will have its premiere, featuring the Requiem Liturgical and the Canon of Resurrection by Mikołaj Dylecki. The ensemble has appeared at significant international festivals such as Wratislavia Cantans, Ohrid Summer, Emilia Romagna Festival, Usedomer Musikfestival, Ljubljana Festival, “Varna Summer” International Music Festival, Schlesisches Musikfest, Leoš Janáček International Music Festival, Moravian Autumn, Lerici Music Festival, and Galway Early Music Festival, and performed in many cities across Poland and Europe.
