When in the Karkonosze Mountains, one must visit Gerhart Hauptmann's House in Jagniątków, where the Nobel laureate lived and worked until his last days. The dramatist, novelist, and 1912 Nobel Prize winner has permanently entered into the memory of the Karkonosze. The museum offers seven rooms that present the artist's work and career. Visitors can see, among others, the writer's study, library, dining room, fireplace room, and the beautiful hall adorned with a polychrome created in 1922 by J. M. Avenarius - because of the theme of the paintings, it is called the "Paradise Hall".
